Dippy Diver
I remember this toy from decades ago. My mother & father were both scuba divers. Google for the info and I discovered that this is a Louis Marx Nutty Mad toy from Series 1 made in 1963 or 1964.
I wonder what possessed the artist to create this :-)

Cleaning Shadow
My rule on Daily Shoot is that I won't post until I've finished the assignment. For several days I've struggled to try to get interesting shadows. I was taking the other daily shoot pictures as I went but until I finished the shadow assignment I wasn't going to post any.
I finally managed to get an acceptable shadow picture.
Make a photo composed of interesting shadows today. Try composing with long shadows at the beginning and end of the day.

American as... Rhubarb Pie?
Apples are not in season, but rhubarb is. We traded a couple of pickup loads of sheep manure for a pie, some strawberries and 6 jars of jam.

50 Gallon Manhole
There are no underground utilities here. Closest I could find was the used 50 gallon drum with the bottom cut out to protect the water valve of a friends sprinkler system. My alternate was a picture of our backhoe, a DIY manhole.

Code Breaker
My grandfather was a cryptographer. He used to send me letters in code that I had to break before I could read them. I recently found his old notebook and some newsletters and info from the ACA. I've had his basic cryptanalysis book for years. His code name was The Squire. A favorite activity was trying to break the code of his latest letter so I could see what he said.
