I was actually able to use the macro function on my camera for this because Belinda is a very friendly sheep. I like how you can see the red coats and the hay barn reflected in her eye.

When we restored our 1927 kit house on the farm we found these bottles of wine in the basement. They were some of the very first commercial wines made in Colorado. We had a wine party with our winery neighbors and opened them. Surprisingly the red wines were not very good but the whites had aged remarkably well and were better than some of the wines currently being made here! We still have one unopened bottle. Maybe this year we'll try it.

I cheated on this one. I tried several motion blur shots and didn't get anything good because I can't set shutter speed with my camera. Then as I was sorting pictures from my UK trip I found this. The blur was from the car moving. I liked it so much I decided to use it anyway.

This is Black Sheep Power & Light - not fully operational yet, we are waiting for final electrical inspection and the installation of the new meter that will go backwards. But it will provide shade for the rams and power for us. It's a 3200 watt grid intertied system.

One of the places I visited in the UK was this lovely old Abbey. It was very peaceful and beautiful.

This is getting ready to go on the underground our of the Big Pit coal mine museum/park in Wales. Coming from a coal mining area I was very interested in how mining was done in this area. We were required to leave everything with a battery on the surface so no underground pictures at all.

I had a hard time finding an insect for this Daily Shoot until I spied the wasp eating a fallen cider apple. This is in Talybont on Usk in Wales.

I actually took several pictures of fabric this day, but decided that the beautiful Abergavenny Tapestry would be my choice even though I could not get the entire piece in one frame. This lovely hand knotted tapestry was made for the Abergavenny Millenium celebration and is now housed in the fully restored Tithe Barn of the Abergavenny Priory. The museum is well worth the visit.

At Great Tre Rhew Farm I helped move sheep across a grazed field onto new pastures. The grass is sparse because there hasn't been nearly enough rain this year in that part of Wales. As a farmer I know that weather is one of the most important parts of my life. These ewes are Mules and other crosses.

This is Yoda, a pet wether. He is now an elderly sheep at 9 years of age. He was a bottle baby and destined to be someone's pet but they never came to get him and by then he was too much a part of our lives to put him in the freezer. Now he spends his days asking for scratches when I am in the pasture (you won't believe how hard it was to get this shot!) and teaching the lambs where the fences are and how to move around to fresh grass and go through the sweep and other things sheep have to do on our farm. He is a wise master and loves teaching the "younglings".

OK So this is late. But when I saw the assignment I knew the photo I wanted to take but life intervened and we didn't get down to town until 29 July. This is one of the posters on the wall at our local pub, Revolution Brewing.
