Banned Books

Banned Books
Originally uploaded by Oogie McGuire
The American Library Association's Banned Books Week is from 25 Sept to 2 October. Here are just some of the books in my shelves that have been banned at one time or another. How many times must we repeat this before we learn that banning ideas does not make them go away and freedom demands the right to read anything you want!

Make a photo of an interesting stack of books or magazines. Consider how you handle repeating lines in your composition.

First Five

First Five
Originally uploaded by Oogie McGuire
When we restored our 1927 kit house on the farm we found these bottles of wine in the basement. They were some of the very first commercial wines made in Colorado. We had a wine party with our winery neighbors and opened them. Surprisingly the red wines were not very good but the whites had aged remarkably well and were better than some of the wines currently being made here! We still have one unopened bottle. Maybe this year we'll try it.

Plastic or glass, make a photo of a bottle or grouping of bottles today and post it.
